Hi, I’m Michele. My brother is called Andrea. For the last 13 years we have been living in different countries. He lives in Osimo, Italy, I live in Barcelona, Spain. Even though we have been living such a long time apart, I have always believed that we will have plenty more to spend together. Italy and Spain are not too far from one another, that’s for sure. And we were just at the beginning of our adult life. All of my certainties though started to fall to pieces in the summer of 2017. I received a call from Italy, telling me that my brother had a very aggressive form of cancer called Burkitt lymphoma. I took the first flight I could jump on headed to Italy. Andrea was already in the hospital. The doctor told me he had seven days left to live.

Life is so unpredictable and it always throws surprises at us. 

One day we are all going to die, but not the others.

My brother is still alive, he beat cancer. In the summer of 2022, we got to travel for the first time together and decided to go to Sardinia. A 7 day road trip in a van. Those seven days that he had left to live and that now we can live just thinking about life and the present moment.
